Our Story
How It Started
Northern Technology Services was founded in 2015 in Petoskey by Ross Whitmore — a Petoskey local with a genuine interest in technology and a habit of helping people solve problems.
In the early days, NTS was a break/fix shop: show up when something broke, get it working again, and advise on what to buy next. It worked — but it was always reactive.
Over the years, the model changed. Today NTS delivers proactive, fully managed IT — pairing day-to-day support with the security software, backup services, cloud infrastructure, and strategic planning that keep a business running, instead of running to catch up.
